     I hope the winter has been calm, comfortable, and constructive. The Dover Middle School Athletic Department is currently processing physical documents, advising student athletes/families, and preparing for the spring sports season to begin March 2nd, 2026 upon the respective athletic field. Most importantly, the prospective student athletes are required to have a physical examination with a health care professional (MD/DO, NP, or PA) and submit the completed “Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Athletic Physical and Consent Forms” (Click here) before the conclusion of the month within the Dover Middle School main office. The respective coaches establish the registration procedures, tryout sessions, and practice schedule. Therefore, the head coach of the interested sport may be contacted via email with any encountered questions or challenges and a response shall ensue upon the earliest availability. The Dover Middle School Athletic Department is currently processing physical documents, advising student athletes/families, and preparing for the winter sports season to begin upon November 12th, 2025 within the respective gymnasium or auxiliary space. Ladies’ Basketball Interest Meeting and Open Gym


The ladies’ basketball interest and information meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 6th from 5:00 until 5:30 PM in the large gymnasium. Additionally, the ladies’ team shall also host an open gymnasium and conditioning session after the interest meeting from 5:30 until 6:30 PM for students that are demonstrating satisfactory academic progress. The ladies who are attending the basketball preseason activities must leave school and return upon the beginning of the interest meeting. These students must also organize prompt transportation for 6:15 PM and those prospective athletes who neglect this requirement will be unable to attend future conditioning opportunities.

Football Game Transferred Back to DMS


Good Evening,

     I hope the week has been well and favorable. The Smyrna/Dover Middle School football game location has been revised this evening (Tuesday, 10.28.25) and transferred back to the Dover Middle School (1 Patrick Lynn Drive, Dover, DE 19904) turf field. Therefore, this game will be hosted within the Dover Middle School Stadium and begin at 4:00 PM tomorrow (Wednesday, 10.29.25) afternoon. Homecoming Parade and Festivities (10.3.25)


The athletes who are interested in meeting the Dover Middle School homecoming float for the celebratory parade and festivities must arrive upon Loockerman street at approximately 4:30 PM tomorrow (Friday, 10.3.25) afternoon with the respective coaches. These athletes should also wear the team uniform and organize prompt transportation upon the conclusion of the parade.

*NEW SPECTATOR GUIDELINES... NO BAGS OR STROLLERS AT SCHOOL EVENTS. ALL SPECTATORS WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH A SECURITY CHECKPOINT.

**Spectators under the age of 18 will need to have their parent or guardian with them during the entire event.

***Starting in November access to games is permitted by purchase of tickets with digital tickets, please stay tuned for further information

Volleyball Information (Fall 2024)


Hello Lady Senators!!!! The year is approaching and you know that means it is VOLLEYBALL SEASON !!!! If your child is interested Please have DIAA physical ASAP!!! They can be obtained from Dover Middle School or most walking/physicians have them. We will have an interest meeting September 6 in the cafeteria immediately following dismissal and will end at 3:45 !! Tryouts will be three days September 11, 12 and 13 from dismissal to 4:45 PM!! Ladies MUST participate in all three days to have the opportunity to make the team!! Parents please be prompt for pick up times!!! Sportsmanship


The Athletic Department at Central Middle School encourages community involvement in our programs. We welcome the support of all parents, students, fans, and community members. All parties involved are encouraged to exercise good sportsmanship. The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) offers free courses in a wide range of sports-related topics, including sportsmanship, concussion, role of parents in sports, and heat-related illness.
